"Battle of the Bulge"

December 1944-January 1945, The German Army executed it’s Ardennes Offensive to break through the Allied lines and seize the Belgian port of Antwerp.  US, British, Canadian, Belgian and French forces fought off the offensive but at a terrible cost.  This January 6, 2007 we remember and honor the soldiers who fought this battle.

Crosse Creek Rifle and Pistol Club will be sponsoring a VINTAGE MILITARY RIFLE and PISTOL Match using the weapons of the day.  We won’t be re-enacting the battle, but we will be testing our marksmanship.  We will be conducting a rifle match using paper and pop-up steel targets at distances out to 300 yds.  We will also conduct a pistol match at 25 yds.

So, get out your Mausers, Garands, Enfields, and Springfield rifles, as well as your P07 Lugers, P38’s, and of course your .45’s, and come out to shoot.  Other WWII era semi-auto and bolt-action rifles and pistols welcome as well.

SORRY, NO FULL-AUTO WEAPONS ALLOWED.

We are expecting German re-enactors from 2nd Co., 131st  Infantry Rgt., 44th Infantry Division (Wehrmacht) and US re-enactors from 82nd Airborne Living History Detachment in uniforms of the period to shoot the match.  We also plan to have some vintage vehicles and equipment on display.

The rifle match will be a 500 point match following the CMP John C. Garand Match Course B (altered) description.  See Match Description for details.
